Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Leia collects, how we handle it, and your rights.

1. What We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the service:

• Authentication data: When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a user identifier and email address solely for account creation.
• Voice input: When you use the Big Green Button, your speech is transcribed on-device using Apple's speech recognition. The audio itself is not stored or transmitted. The resulting text transcript is sent to our relay server so Leia can understand your request and respond.
• Commitments and entities: The tasks, people, and facts you create are stored encrypted locally on your device.
• Crash reports and diagnostics: Anonymous crash data is collected to help us fix bugs. This contains no personal content.
• Usage analytics: We collect anonymous usage events (e.g., feature usage counts) through our analytics provider. No personal content is included.
• Beta feedback: If you submit feedback or corrections through the app, we receive what you choose to share.

2. AI Processing

All AI processing runs through our secure relay server, which forwards your request to a cloud AI provider (Google Gemini) and returns the response. The relay does not store your prompts or the model's responses — each request is forwarded, the response returned, and both discarded after delivery.

Free tier and Pro tier use the same processing path. The two tiers differ only in daily message volume: Pro subscribers have a higher daily quota. There is no difference in how your data is handled between tiers today.

3. Data Storage

Your personal data (commitments, entities, facts, circle assignments) is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud backup, an encrypted copy is stored in your personal iCloud account. We do not have access to your iCloud backups.

4. Third-Party Services

Leia integrates with the following services when you choose to connect them:

• Authentication, analytics, and crash reporting (provided by Google Firebase) — required for account creation and product stability
• Account sign-in (provided by Apple Sign-In and Google Sign-In) — used solely to create and access your account
• Email and calendar integration (provided by Google Workspace and Microsoft 365) — read-only, only if you choose to connect the integration
• Cloud AI processing (provided by Google Gemini API) — used for all AI processing, routed through our relay server

Each integration requires your explicit opt-in and can be disconnected at any time from Settings.

5. Your Rights

• Access: View all your data within the app at any time.
• Deletion: Go to Settings and tap Sign Out to delete all local data. For full account deletion, email support@helloleia.ai.
• Export: Request a full export of your data by emailing support@helloleia.ai.
• Revoke permissions: Disconnect any integration from Settings, or revoke permissions in your device's Settings app.

6. Children's Privacy

Leia is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version number and date at the top of this page indicate when it was last revised. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
